Five Killed, 25 Injured As Pakistani Troops Target Civilians Near Border
Those injured in the firing have been shifted to the government medical college in Jammu.
ARNIA:  Five people have been killed and 25 injured in firing and shelling from Pakistan at the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir after midnight on Sunday, in the worst attack on civilian areas in recent years.

Two women and a 13-year-old girl were among those killed when Pakistan Rangers started firing at posts of the Border Security Force and villages in the Arnia sector of Jammu at around 1.30 am.

Two members of one family were killed in the attack the night before Eid celebrations on Monday. Several were wounded in heavy mortar shelling and homes were damaged. Mortar shells reportedly even hit a bus stand over four km from the international border.

Sources say people in border villages have been asked not to gather in large numbers.

Intermittent firing continues at Arnia and RS Pura sectors. Pakistani soldiers have also been firing in BG sector in Poonch since this morning.

The Indian Army says this is one of the worst violations of the 2003 ceasefire between the two countries. Sources said in a sign of increased hostilities, Pakistani soldiers had on Sunday refused to accept sweets for Eid, citing "orders from the top."

A man who lives near the border said, "Firing is still on at our village. People are scared. We don't know where to go."

Vijay Kumar, one of the injured, said, "I have never seen such massive firing. Bombs were falling on houses."

Some of the injured, who are being treated at the government medical college in Jammu, are believed to be in a critical state.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said this morning, "Pakistan should stop ceasefire violations and understand the reality. They should understand that the ground reality has changed in India."

The attacks, say sources, could be linked to the killing of five Pakistani soldiers in retaliatory action in recent weeks; two were reportedly killed on Dussehra night.

There was also an infiltration attempt this morning. Three terrorists were killed while trying to cross over at the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the army said.

Peshawar sinks in gloom - TALIBAN SHAMELESS TERROR ATTACK ON PAKISTAN

PESHAWAR: December 16, which is the blackest day for the country due to its dismemberment in 1971, has added another black chapter to the national history. Now, the day will be remembered for the gloom and destruction descended on the provincial capital.   There was no letup in the wailing of ambulance sirens. Dozens of ambulances, both of government as well as non-governmental organisations, seemed to be running short for ferrying bodies of students and teachers of the Army Public School and College, who fell prey to the devastating act of terrorism on Tuesday. There were ambulances of different hue and colour, but all serving the same purpose of carrying the injured and the bodies to major hospitals, including the Combined Military Hospital and the Lady Reading Hospital. The ambulances were bringing gloom to those whose children were killed by terrorists. People searching for their near and dear ones in the hospitals and on the Warsak Road, where the ill-fated educational institu...

India on brink of 'quantum leap,' Modi tells investors -reuters

(Reuters) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised on Sunday to pursue predictable policies and ensure stable taxes, in a speech that sought to address concerns for foreign investors in Asia's third-largest  economy . U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry led a roll call of leaders, including U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and World Bank head Jim Yong Kim, converging on Modi's home town of Gandhinagar for the Vibrant Gujarat business summit. U.S. President Barack Obama visits India later this month. Eight months into Modi's rule, his failure to lift the economy from its longest growth slowdown in a generation has raised questions about how much substance there is behind his promise of "red carpet, not red tape". "We're trying to complete the circle of economic reforms speedily," Modi told the event that he founded when he was chief minister of the industrial state. "We are also keen to see that our policies are predictable. We're clea...

WEB DESIGN- WIKIPEDIA

Web design  encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design ; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software;  user experience design ; and  search engine optimization . Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all. [1]  The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps  web engineering  in the broader scope of  web development . Web designers are expected to have an awareness of  usability  and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with  web accessibility  guidelines.
